FW Tres Leches

Flavor Profile: Tres Leches cake is a delicious dessert that is filled with rich flavor, velvety cream, and pillowy cake. It’s one of the few desserts that I crave at times. The meaning of name “Tres Leches” translates to Three Milks. This meaning the cake is comprised of three different types of milk. Evaporated, condensed, and whole milk then topped with a heavy cream whip. The question is how close is FW’s Tres Leches flavoring compared to the actual dessert. Well… Continue Reading

FW Cookies and Cream

Flavor Profile: This flavor profile is one that kind of sits in the back of my shelf, really only there for niche and rare situations. Cookies and Cream is flavor that is mainly soft vanilla ice cream or dairy, with bits of dark chocolate Oreo crumbs strew throughout. FW’s Cookies and Cream actually does a pretty good job of hitting this flavor profile. The main flavor you get from this recipe is the cream. It’s a sweet, lightly vanilla, but… Continue Reading

FW Blueberry

Flavor Profile: FW Blueberry is often touted as the best blueberry available, and also one of the best flavors that FlavorWest offer. While I can’t say I agree with this, I won’t disagree with it either. FW Blueberry is one hell of a flavoring, and if you’re thinking about picking it up for your recipes, just do so now. I promise you won’t regret it. FW Blueberry nails the blueberry flavor that so many of the blueberries on the market… Continue Reading

FW Cookie Butter

Flavor Profile: Not many people have tried the wonders that is cookie butter. Also known as Speculoos, cookie butter is a spread made of crushed Biscoff shortbread cookies sprinkled with various spices and aromatics like ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It’s a delicious topping on foods like cakes, toast, and bakeries. FW’s Cookie Butter is an attempt at this. Unfortunately, it doesn’t all transfer over to vapor form. You get a faint taste of dry cookie, with a touch of that specific… Continue Reading

FW Kiwi

Flavor Profile: Kiwi is a fruit that doesn’t get the credit it deserves. It’s a wonderful flavor that is bittersweet, sweet, bright, and slightly exotic. Flavor West does a great job of being able to capture the essence of a ripe kiwi, though I will say it leans a bit more on the artificial “candy” side. Now depending on your recipe, that can either be a pro or a con. In most of the cases where I use Kiwi, it’s a… Continue Reading

FW Boom

Testing Setup: RDA: Recoil // Coil: 6 Wrap Dual Fused Kanthal Clapton 2x28g core 32g @ 45W // Wicking: Cotton Bacon v2 Flavor Story: One can only assume this is an attempt at a nostalgic flavor trying to bring you back to your childhood when you would run out of the house with a dollar screaming for the ice cream man to stop. And then spend an hour picking out shitty ice cream. If memory serves me correctly there were Spider-man popsicles,… Continue Reading

FW Green Apple

Flavor Profile: It’s the fall season, apples are being harvested, and apple recipes are being made all around the country. FW Green Apple is one of the better apple flavorings that are available on the market. Now there are two different Green Apples that FW creates. Natural Green Apple and Green Apple. I’m talking about Green Apple. So with this flavoring, I’m very happy with the flavor that I get from it. With a taste test, this stuff tastes exactly like… Continue Reading

FW Graham Cracker

Flavor Profile: There are a lot of Graham Cracker flavorings out there in the market today. I think almost every major flavor vendor has their own type of Graham Cracker they sell. CAP’s is very much on the cinnamon style, TFA’s is more like a pie crust flavor, and FW’s Graham Cracker is much more on the cookie end. And in terms of cookie flavorings, this flavoring is often left out. Maybe it’s just not as popular, or maybe because FW… Continue Reading

FW Double Dutch Twister

Flavor Profile: This is one of those flavors that no one ever expects to purchase or use, yet they should. Double Dutch Twister is one of the most unique flavors I’ve used. Now it’s meant to be a chocolate and vanilla swirl candy flavor. Meaning milk chocolate paired up next to a vanilla-like white chocolate. Does it match the flavor description? Not really. I don’t really get that flavor from this flavoring, but nonetheless it does do a good job of portraying… Continue Reading

FW Butterscotch Ripple

FW Butterscotch Ripple is my favorite butterscotch to date. Is it because it tastes exactly like a thick soft crack butterscotch? No. Is it because it has the flavor of reminiscent of a butterscotch ice cream? No. It’s because I can actually use it without giving my recipes that “alcoholic” astringent flavor that often comes with authentic butterscotches like FW Butterscotch Natural. I’ve almost exclusively been using Butterscotch Ripple as my go to Butterscotch when ever a recipe calls for… Continue Reading
