Flavor Notes
CAP Strawberries and Cream: This is the most important aspect of Lava Flow. I initially tried to mix this using FA’s Strawberry. I found it to be close, but it seemed to be lacking some of the deeper berry notes that I pick up from the original. CAP Strawberries & Cream, to me, contains that specific “note”. I’m using it in this recipe at its middle-upper range, because I don’t want the pineapple to pop out too much, like in the original.
FA Pineapple: Speaking on Pineapple, I decided to go with FA Pineapple. This is also controversial, as there are many who despise FA Pineapple, and pick up weird off-notes from it. I find it to be a bright, sweet, and stick pineapple, especially when combined with Sucralose. At 2% you’ll find it sits right in the body, like in the original, but isn’t overpowering in any way.
FA Coconut: Lastly, this I’m using FA Coconut to finish off the end. I get a touch of that suntan lotion feel from the original, and it triggers my FA Coconut senses. I find it sits perfectly on the finish, like in the original.
Super Sweet: This is the last ingredient. Of course, you don’t need to add it in. But if you want the recipe to taste similar to Naked’s version, you need to add it in. I’m using the average 0.5%.
Holy shit, I must have made 15 different versions trying to clone this (All way too much flavouring and overly complex)… But my best discovery was using One on One’s ‘Burnt Sugar’ – what do you think?
Maybe a dumb questions. But I would like to make sure. FA has a “Coco” and a FA “Coconut” flavor. So when you say Coco (Coconut) which one do you mean.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
I’ve made several bottles of this clone and find it much tastier than the original (which seems a bit overpowering with the pineapple). This is a much better mix than the original. Thanks for the clone! I absolutely love it!
